Missing a flight because of a van is the single failure this company exists to prevent. The planning rule is simple enough to do on a napkin, and this page is that napkin.
The 2.5-hour rule
Arrive at Puerto Princesa airport at least 2.5 hours before your flight’s departure time. PPS is a small, fast airport — check-in to gate takes minutes — which is exactly why 2.5 hours is a comfortable buffer rather than a paranoid one: it absorbs a slow stretch of highway, a longer lunch stop, or an extra drop-off without drama.
The napkin math
Work backwards: flight time, minus 2.5 hours, minus 5–6 hours of driving. That’s your latest sensible El Nido departure.
- 3:00 PM flight → at the airport by 12:30 PM → leave El Nido by 6:30–7:00 AM. The early-morning slot is your slot.
- 6:00 PM flight → at the airport by 3:30 PM → leave El Nido by 9:30–10:00 AM. Morning slots work; midday is already gambling.
- Morning flight out of PPS → the math goes negative. Don’t attempt same-day from El Nido: ride down the afternoon before, sleep in Puerto Princesa, and stroll to the airport rested.
